Letters to Meshack
May 30, 2011 By Susan Moody
In 2002, A jury at The Zimbabwe International Book Fair published “Africa’s 100 Best Books” and one of our Writers Changing Lives authors, Meshack Asare, topped the Children’s category. You might remember that Meshack told Jennifer that when he was young growing up in Ghana, books were scarce. He grew up reading his father’s collection of history books–never actually seeing a children’s book until much later in life.
Our kids love his books. Recently the teachers in the iRead program have held reading contests and last week our students wrote Mr. Asare touching letters about their experience reading his bestseller: The Canoe’s Story. Take a peek at what two of them, Abigail and Richard, had to say.
