we’ve partnered with HarperCollins!

March 16, 2017 By

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve partnered with HarperCollins, one of the largest and most illustrious publishers to add a selection of the world’s most-loved authors to our digital library.

Thanks to the partnership we’ve captured some true family classics, including all of the Chronicles of Narnia as well as Pinocchio, The Prince and the PauperGrimms’ Fairy Tales and What Katy Did Next. Equally exciting is the donation of copies of three of Neil Gaiman’s stories – Coraline, The Graveyard Book and Fortunately, the Milk. In a global deal, we’ve secured amazing content from HarperCollins’ operations in the US, UK and Canada and we’re hugely grateful for the support.

HarperCollins’ titles will go into our e-reader programme where they will reach children across central Africa, both in schools and in community libraries. They will help to engender and foster a love of reading that will have ripple effects throughout the communities where the children grow up. The selection of titles helps with the richness of books that we can offer people too, from the stories of Narnia that millions of children have read around the world in many languages, to modern classics by Neil Gaiman. Worldreader strives to give adults and children the tools needed to foster a love of reading so having authors that are both recognizable and have a proven track record of enchanting readers around the world is the ideal place to start.

At Worldreader we’re trying to create a global movement, using digital delivery to change the game when it comes to the easy dissemination of content. Reading is one of the most essential skills people need to reach their potential and escape from cycles of poverty, and having HarperCollins partner with us on this mission will help us reach yet more people who currently have no access to books.
